The people of VụnArt

The people at VụnArt are the special elements that bring the project to life. They are artisans with skillful hands and resilient hearts. Each individual not only possesses refined craftsmanship but also carries inspiring life stories, overcoming challenges to spread joy and love through every product.

At VụnArt, each person contributes to a larger picture — a colorful, creative masterpiece of unity, perseverance, and an unyielding spirit. Their smiles and stories breathe life into each creation, adding invaluable humanity to the essence of VụnArt.

Lives of the less fortunate

The Beginning

Before joining Vụn Art, most of our special needs craftsmen led a reclusive life, denied the chance for social integration. With over 95% of our staff being special needs (such as mute, deaf, cerebral palsy, autism, and ADHD), they have faced innumerable difficulties and challenges. Vụn Art fosters an environment where these individuals are respected and provided with opportunities to grow and contribute to the production of meaningful craftwork.

“We need the cooperation of the community, social organizations, and businesses to ensure that workers with disabilities are not discriminated against and that they have equal rights to access employment.”

Tô Đức, Director of the Department of Social Protection (Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs)

Where lives are transformed

The Journey

At Vụn Art, our special needs craftsmen are provided with free vocational training to master skills ranging from basic to advanced, such as cutting, assembling, and creating crafts. These tasks demand meticulous attention to detail and an intense focus, even more so for the inherent difficulties that our craftsmen face. Cutting a circle or shaping the most simple molds can take months for some. Yet, with unwavering resolve and determination, they relentlessly honed their craft for 1-5 years to achieve proficiency in their trade. Every day, our craftsmen push past their limits to create intricate craftswork.

“Creating opportunities and employment for people with disabilities is not only a social responsibility but also a way to help them gain confidence, integrate, and contribute to the community.”

Đào Ngọc Dung, Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs.

The “fruits” of Vụn’s special needs craftsmen

The Result

At Vụn Art, not only do special needs craftsmen learn a trade, but they also discover confidence and joy. They earn an income, gain independence, and are no longer a burden to their families. Each member of our organization contributes to a colorful and meaningful bigger picture.

The Journey of Crafting Artistic Creations

Artistic creations are made from fabric scraps through a unique fabric-piecing technique. Skilled artisans use small fabric pieces from Van Phuc Silk Village, meticulously selecting, cutting, and assembling them to create vibrant and sophisticated images.
