The Journey of Crafting Artistic Creations

Artistic creations are made from fabric scraps through a unique fabric-piecing technique. Skilled artisans use small fabric pieces from Van Phuc Silk Village, meticulously selecting, cutting, and assembling them to create vibrant and sophisticated images.

Subtitle: Origin and Characteristics of the Materials

The materials that constitute the canvas art at Vụn Art are fabric scraps and silk remnants gifted by Vạn Phúc silk village’s tailor shops. Each piece of fabric, though small in size, carries its own story. They are creatively repurposed, becoming indispensable in our array of special crafts. The fusion between traditional materials and the skilled hands of our craftsmen brings a unique blend of color, meaning, and innovation to the paintings.

The Process of Creating Vụn Art Paintings

Discover the steps that transform fabric scraps into unique works of arts

Designing and adapting ideas

We begin by creating a painting version of our design, adapting our ideas into images with clear structure and shape. Every detail in our design is meticulously refined to ensure that the final product achieves harmony in color and shape. This process allows for a clear visualization before the fabrics are cut.

Sample prints and scissor work

Our craftsmen carefully retrace the art patterns according to the design on the back of PVC foam boards. Each cut is made with focus and accuracy, creating harmonious and consistent shapes.

Preparing fabrics and canvas

We then select materials suitable for the design and theme of the painting, consisting primarily of fabric and silk remains. The fabrics are then ironed and pressed onto the foam board, ensuring a solid foundation for ease when attaching more intricate fabric details.

Drawing and cutting shapes following the design

On the back of the foam board, our craftsmen redraw the art patterns or images of the painting. The fabric details are then precisely cut along the drawn lines, outputting structured and suitable pieces for the design.

Assembling and Finalizing

Once the fabric details are cut, Vụn Art’s artisans use an iron to position and secure them on the canvas. Finally, every detail is heat-pressed onto the canvas, ensuring the painting is complete and durable over time.
