The beginning of Mrs. Hau’s journey is a story of resilience. Living with the after-effects of polio since childhood, and facing the challenges of being a single woman in her 60s with unstable income, life wasn’t easy. But she never chose to surrender to fate.
She was one of the first people brave enough to learn the art of fabric mosaic at Vun Art. With persistence and patience, she mastered each piece of silk, turning her physical limitations into a source of focus and meticulous craftsmanship. And then, the “sweet fruit” arrived. With a stable income from Vun Art, she became financially independent and found joy and recognition in her work.
Her quiet perseverance was honored with the “Effort to Overcome Poverty” Certificate of Merit from the Hanoi People’s Committee in 2023. Today, Mrs. Hau is not only a skilled artisan—she is also a “teacher,” a warm and steady guide who gently passes on her passion to young newcomers.
